My story.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who graduated from Cincinnati Christian University (Cincinnati, OH) in May 2011 with a Master of Arts in Counseling. After moving to Columbus, I worked briefly for Netcare (Columbus, OH) before going into private practice with WellSpring Counseling (Columbus, OH). Then I joined CornerStone Family Services (Columbus, OH) in June 2014, where I worked alongside a group of fabulous professionals for almost six years.
I am now working as a solo practitioner, where I focus on Perinatal Mood Disorders (i.e. Postpartum Depression/Anxiety, Postpartum OCD, etc.) and Grief/Loss along with Relationship Concerns, Women’s Issues, Anxiety, and Depression.
I really want to come alongside moms who are struggling to figure out how to do motherhood while coming up against the cultural idea that motherhood should always be joyful. In addition, since losing my mother to complications of breast cancer when I was nine years old, I have a heart for helping people to integrate all grief/loss into their life in a positive way, while still feeling their feelings and being real.
I have extensive training through both Postpartum Support International (PSI) and The Postpartum Stress Center (PPSC) in regard to Perinatal Mood Disorders. In addition, I am EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Trained (Part I and Part II), which can be very useful with trauma work. Furthermore, I have had thorough training in couples counseling - Gottman Method Level III and Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) Externship and Core Skills.
